US Sales Tax App for Australia? Tax Rex no longer option

I need to add a sales tax app to shopify for the US, but im based in Australia. Are there any sales tax threshold monitoring + auto file for cost available that is compatible with international businesses?

I was going to use Tax Rex but now it seems you need US address so not international compatible which is a shame 😞

Hey, we might be able to help.

We have done this in the past for other customers, however, I will publicly state that the need for a US address is likely the need for a US bank account. Most states require that the tax funds be sent via a US bank account.

I am happy to hop on a call and talk through some of these things in more depth if you'd like. Without a US bank account, it does get more complex but it's possible to do.

Hi @BreezyFile thanks for letting me know. I didn't realise this. It's interesting because not alot of international businesses outside of the US would have US bank accounts, yet they sell in the US, so they should be liable for sales tax for over certain thresholds?

Yeah, I definitely agree with you. It's a tough thing for businesses to work around.  We do have a way to handle this situation, but I honestly don't love the solution we have for various reasons.  Our customers have ended up opening up a US bank account.  US sales tax isn't exactly user-friendly for businesses.
