Using mergify app to merge 2 orders into one, how to deal with the 2 orders and the draft order

I downloaded mergify to combine 2 orders made by a customer. It has created a new draft order . Now the draft order has doubled the inventory needed for fulfilment. I have manually selected  payment as paid by other so as not to try to send and invoice. Have i done this correctly and how to stop shopify seeing the inventory from the 2 original orders and the draft order needing to be fulfilled.
