App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I am trying to verify my store on the Google Merchant Center - the instruction is < Paste the HTML tag in the HTML code of your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section. > But I can't see where the home page section is on the HMTL editor. Please help!
Many thanks
Paste it in the theme.liquid file

Hello @Emile1,
Gina here from flareAI.
Follow these steps to add the meta tag to <head> of your theme.
Step 1: Open your theme in the Shopify dashboard
Log into your Shopify dashboard and select Online Store > Themes > For the active theme Actions > Edit code > Customize. This will bring you to a page where you can access the source code for your active Shopify store template.
Step 2: Edit your Layout (theme.liquid)
In the left-hand column, you will see a list of all the files in your template. Within the Layout folder, you should see a file named theme.liquid. This is the base template for your Shopify store.
The theme.liquid will be the main file that you’ll need to edit in order to add your custom meta tags.
Step 3: Add meta tags
Add your meta tag within the <head> section of theme.liquid file, and save.
You are done with adding the meta tag. Now you can view the page source of your store and see if the tag is available.
Hope this helps.
Gina
