What app can help customers check product quality with a serial number?

Hello,

I'm looking for an app that will allow people who have purchased my products to enter a serial number and be directed to a page showing the quality of their product. 

So, in other words, if they want to know the quality of the metal they ordered, they can go to my site, enter the serial number of the metal into a box, and it brings them to a page showing the specific batch and quality.

Can someone please direct me to something like this?  Thanks.

Simplest way is just linking to those serial number pages directly from the product page or in the order notifications they receive. For online store 2.0 themes use metafield definitions and custom-liquid blocks/sections to create lists of such links per product.

The best "app" fit there is just a run of the mill search app , or a search service that's customized to recognize serials and sent to the main result instead of showing all results.

Or merely do theme customizations.

Either do a url completion once they finish entering a valid serial number into a form input so they get sent to the right page i.e. myshopify.com/pages/<< serial_number>>

Or there's also making an alternate template of your theme's search template and customizing it to return only pages(instead of products,etc) . While those created pages have the handles and descriptions with the serial number so that they tend to be the main|first result.

And remember people make typos all the time so account for that in the UI and pages.
