What does 'admin.shopify.com' referral in GA4 mean?

Hi, 

I've started seeing a lot of traffic and installs for our app from a new source called "admin.shopify.com" and it is tagged in GA4 as a referral.

Has anyone else experienced the same and perhaps knows what it means? Did Shopify change anything on their end in how they send the data to GA?

Hi there, admin.shopify is probably you when logging in the account. You need to add it as an exception for tracking in GA4 and Shopify.

Hi, 

I am not sure that is the case since we have sign ups and upgrades coming from there and the volume of visits is too high for it to be employee logins.
