Google Merchant Center is warning that the entry I have in the size field in the Google Shopping App for a t-shirt with multiple colors and sizes is not cool. I've tried dividing the sizes with a hash and comma. Still getting the warning. What goes in the size field when you have an apparel design with multiple colors and sizes?
You can only submit 1 unique product. Meaning if you have a product with 3 colors, then you should submit all 3 products.
Then for each of these products, you submit 1 color.
If you also have different sizes, then again submit each color with one size. So if you have 3 colors and 3 sizes. You should submit 9 total products.
Or just submit one product, in this case you need to submit 1 color and 1 size. Adding multiple sizes or colors is not allowed.
Hope this helps.
The answer to this question is, "nothing." Nothing goes into the size field of the Google Shopping App when colors and sizes are already listed by variant in the Variants section of the main product page. I still need to enter the age group and gender in the Google Shopping App. But the app sends the color and size information that is listed in the variant section.
Leaving the required Google field (e.g. color) blank causes the item (and its variants) to end up in the Not approved bucket. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, Shopify doesn't allow me to enter individual colors for each variant. Ideally, Shopify should map each variant to a unique product on Google. In other words, 1 product on Shopify that has 4 variants should be transmitted to Google as 4 products by the platform. Without this, the concept of variants on Shopify is useless.
Hopefully I am wrong about this, and Shopify does have this one-to-many mapping, and I'm just messing something up in my product setup... yes??? What am I doing wrong?
If you are using the free app, yes you can not submit all variants accurately. However if you have added the variant options correctly and you use any other app, they can easily map every attribute correctly.
Just not the free app. It's free for a reason, it's not well designed and is mainly for simply websites. Not for merchants who want to maximize their advertising.

If you are asking which other app: any other app, just not the free one above.
