What is the best weight-based inventory management app for selling herbs?

Hi.

I am looking for weight based app to run my shopify inventory. Tried many so far and non work way I need it.

I am purchasing herbs by weight lets say 20 kg. And selling as one product with variations 10, 25, 50, 100,200, 500 and 1000 grams.

Is there any app which will deduct variants sold from whole weight available and if for example weight go below 400g will make variants 500 and 1000 unavailable. At same time making available 40x 10g, 16x 25 g, 8x 50 g, 4x 100 g and 2x 200g.

I do not want create separate auction here for each variant.

Any suggestion here I

I spend last few weeks trying so many app and non was working way I ned.

This feature is too specific to be covered by a ready Shopify app. But your need can be meet with the simple custom Shopify app.

A few days ago we released an app that can solve the exact problem that you're facing. It can allow you to track the inventory of herbs (raw material) separately from the inventory of products (or product variants). For each variant you can define a "Bill of Materials" indicating how many grams of each herb are required to make the variant. Every time an order is placed or cancelled the app will update the inventory of all product variants affected by the order and keep your material inventory in sync with your product inventory.

1. Create a Base Product: Start by creating a Base product for inventory tracking, which will represent your total inventory (e.g., 20kg/20,000 grams). This will be a Draft product used only for tracking inventory in Shopify admin.

2. Set Up Bundle Groups: Use the app to create Bundle groups that connect the Base product inventory with each of your weight variants. For example, if you have 7 weight variants (10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 grams), you’ll need to create 7 bundle groups. Here’s how to set up a bundle group for the "10 grams" variant:

   • Master Product: "10 grams" variant
   • Component Product: The Base product you created, with the quantity per bundle set to 10

   • When a variant is purchased (e.g., 10 grams), the Base product inventory will be reduced by the corresponding amount (10 grams). The new Base product inventory will then recalculate the available quantities for all weight variants, ensuring accurate inventory management across all variants.

I was really impressed by Fusion inventory it was working great, but now stopped working and looking for replacement. I have already almost 400 products in weight 5-6 variants and using same product for each variant weight is auto deducted from product, any chance not to add that manualy?

I also sell tea through Second Aid (my brand). I have been using Prediko to manage and track my Raw materials. They have integrated with rest of the typical features that inventory apps have. You might want to try it out. Maybe they can help
