App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I have a spreadsheet my supplier automatically emails every few hours to update dropship stock on my website. I've been paying for 2 years for Stock Sync, absolute RUBBISH app - just found out it Archived 500 products that don't even relate to the spreadsheet it is supposed to manage.
Can somebody please suggest a reputable and decent app or solution? Basically I need what stock sync does, but I need it to work, and preferably need support that doesn't just refer me to 'self help' articles that clearly do not work.
Hey Mrbrodie94
I understand you because I am in the same situation,
but if I find another similar app I will tell you straight away.
I hope you do the same
Genuine Good Luck
Yes I am still stuck with RubbishSync. Now it has made all of my product prices that it syncs completely wrong. I have compared the prices to the spreadsheet it reads from the supplier and they are nothing alike.
It actually amazes me at how monumentally awful this app is. Everytime I ask for support they ask for a good review. Just terrible all round. Hope they get banned from the Shopify App Store. Have a look at the two spreadsheets.
Left is StockSync, right is the supplier spreadsheet stocksync reads. Look how wildly different the prices are.
I see they have a name in the WORLD ''RubbishSync.'' 😄
I credited them with 50$ and they couldn't even import all of the supplier products, the task froze at 65%
I wrote so many emails, but they gave me wrong answer no solution
It looks like The app was developed by a smart person, but the customer support ruins their reputation.
I already know what's their future with this type of customer support, no chat no nothing, it seems like they are involved in whistleblowing maybe shady things!
P.S. - Stock Sync got a price management field, you can multiply it by % + I noticed they pull the RRP price from the supplier not the actual low cost, check it out
We are sorry for your experience with our app, Stock Sync. We discovered it was a configuration issue. The price field wasn't mapped, so the price wasn't synced. But the cost price is mapped though (refer to screenshot). That might lead to thinking the price is mapped but wasn't synced.
Hi,
Not sure if you have found an alternative yet, but I was recently on the hunt for a similar app because of my own constant horror show with SS - if you haven’t yet, try Simple Inventory. It has the same basic functionality as SS at a fraction of the cost (starts at 2.99 is/mo for manual CSV upload, no max on SKUs. For me, that’s $72 less than what Sucksat-Syncing was charging, and it actually performs the updates faster. Hope that helps.
Oh and the CEO Chris responds pretty quick, and is always willing to assist.
Paying $72 is relatively high, but we keep improving our price plan to give more value to our customers. You can reach us; we can help suggest better configurations for a lesser cost. As of today, Simple Inventory has increased the price to $5.99/mo for manual upload. On the other hand, Stock Sync is FREE for manual upload.
Hello Jorhan,
I am having The wordt experience with stocksync As well and I see other people are having The same issue. I paid for a custom Plan and now after The update, every singke item in my Store is archived. Items that have absolutely nothing to do with my csv file on stocksync. What is going on here?
Hello @mrbrodie94
The Inventory Sync feature in our Bulk Product Editor app can be used to periodically synchronize data between different suppliers or product feeds and your store. An Inventory Sync job will download a spreadsheet from a remote server (Dropbox/Google Drive/FTP/URL) and use that file to update product data in your Shopify store. The job can be configured to run on a custom schedule.
Here's a help article that will guide you through the process: https://support.ablestar.com/article/201-inventory-sync
Our app also has a free version that allows for 5 free in-app edits and 5 free spreadsheet edits a month. If you have any questions you can reach us at support@ablestar.com
Best,
Sophie
Hey guys,
For inventory/stock update specifically, our app EZ Inventory could be an alternative as well.
We currently can't pull the inventory feeds from an email, but we do support automatically pulling them from an FTP/SFTP server or a website URL.

Hello,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem with stocksync? The same issue happened to me. My first update completely wiped out a few of my collections. My next update archived my products. I thought that my CSV file was uploaded incorrectly but obviously there’s something wrong with this application. I am so frustrated.
I am truly sorry for your bad experience on our app. We can see you are communicating with our support team to help. Our team will ensure all the issues will be cleared and resolved. Please continue to reach out to us via chat or email.
Hello Jorhan,
I hope this message reaches you quickly and I hope you will resolve this issue as quickly as possible as I see that you are the founder of this syncx application. I have been paying for a subscription with stocksync and it took multiple emails, multiple meetings and a month to set up the inventory correctly in my Shopify store. I had a scheduled meeting the other day with one of your staff. I wanted to filter the products that were going into my store HOWEVER, once I noticed that the staff member I was having the meeting with did not understand how to do this. I asked for the meeting to be discontinued so that I can reschedule with one of your staff that I was familiar working with and knew more about what I was trying to achieve. We made no changes to the store, just an update to the scheduled feed which was currently running once a day and I wanted to change it to 3x a day. The next day, I noticed that over 7,000 products were missing from my store. I am now sitting her looking at an update of products going into my store under a different vendor. It look like someone attempted to filter the products, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and completely messed up the inventory in my store! I am in disbelief right now. I rescheduled my meeting because I did not want the inventory messed up in my store because the person I was talking to clearly did not understand what I wanted. I missed my appt for my rescheduled meeting and now all of a sudden, products are going into my store incorrectly. The next time for a meeting is a week away, no one has responded to my email. I need help ASAP. It took a long time just to set this up 50% correctly and now I am back to square one. Someone completely messed up my inventory. I am reaching out to you to get involved because this is messing with my store, my income and I am paying for a subscription every month plus credits.
