What's a simple, low-cost product review app alternative to Shopify's?

Hello.

I'm looking for a simple product review app, similar to Shopify's product review app.

I know there are a lot of alternatives out there, but all the apps I've reviewed offer dozens of features I don't want or need. Simply put, Shopify's product review app is exactly what I want. But it has a drawback which is why I'm now looking for alternatives.

The Shopify product review app inserts structured data into the HTML code in the wrong way, breaking Google's Rich Snippets. Otherwise, the app is perfect. But if it breaks our search results it's unfortunately useless for us.

So we are looking for a product review app that costs little to nothing, has few features other than just leaving product reviews and integrates easily and seamlessly with all themes. We don't need image uploads, social proof, reminder emails, verified buyers, external platform or similar features. Just 1-5 stars, 1 text field, 1 button and a backend to moderate the reviews. That's all.

Does anyone know of any good alternatives that match our requirements?

Thank you for the hint with judge.me, Richard. I already found and checked their app and platform. But I was skeptical because they offer a lot more. We don't need verified reviews and all this stuff. But maybe I will try their app and see if it's okay for our use case. Thanks!

Hi, I have been using Judgeme app, the free version, since mid November 2020 and I can highly recommend it. I changed from another app and I was able to import all the info easily. When I had a problem with the date display (the problem was of my own making) I got a super fast reply from support and their advice solved it.

Their default review request email template is IMO the best I have seen. The customer can simply type their review into the email received and submit it.

There is no opening of another webpage or transferring to another site.

My reviews are averaging 12% of emails sent. I am happy with that and I like the rich snippets showing in Google.

And the most important point is, my customers like the reviews and use them to aid their purchase decision.

Maybe it would be best to email the support team for the Shopify reviews app and tell them what it is doing wrong. If you think its outputting something incorrectly then its going to be a problem for every store.

I would wish that Shopify integrates an option to disable the creation of structured data for store owners who already handles their structured data in another way...
