Hello! We're in the process of migrating to Shopify, and I'm wondering if someone can help point me towards an app that will help us with a specific type of product bundle functionality. I've tried several bundle apps and thus far, none of them appear to do what I want.
There are two specific use-cases we're looking to cover off.
Scenario 1:
The product page would be specific to a "mattress" - this mattress would come in several sizes, ie: Twin, Double, Queen and King, all listed in a drop-down.
The product page would then also have a "box spring" drop-down. This would pull from another product in the store, or, at least, from some sort of template so as to be used across dozens of products.
The catch is we would want the "box spring" drop-down to filter the available variants based upon the "mattress" selected. For example, a "twin mattress" would only show relevant box springs for Twin size, and would not show incompatible choices. This would help avoid a situation where a customer accidentally selects a twin box spring with a queen mattress, for example.
I know that I can accomplish Scenario 1 by simply creating these variants for each product page - but it becomes tedious to keep them up to date if there are unique versions of these variants for each and every mattress model. The shopping cart software that we are migrating from makes it easy to maintain such products as there are "attribute templates" which can be applied across multiple products, which then only requires one edit to update all of them.
Scenario 2:
The product page would be specific to a bath towel. There could be a situation where the towel comes in 8 sizes and 60 colours. The product page would list each of the 8 sizes, with a quantity field for each line item. The colour swatch would be "universal" and apply to all 8 line items.
I've found apps that can come close to what we're looking for, but they end up creating 60 variants of each of the 8 sizes (480 options on one page). When realistically we're just looking for 9 total options on that one product page (the 8 towel sizes + the 60 colour swatch picker).
We don't need the ability to track inventory as most of these products are made to order.
