App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hello! I'm looking for a loyalty app that works seamlessly across different currencies using Shopify markets. I know Yotpo has a multi currency feature but what it does is basically just converting base currency. i.e. "1 point for every 1 SEK spent" will in EUR be: "1 point for every 0,086 Euro spent". Quite terrible UX to me.
Any app that can adapt points depending on which currency you are viewing and purchasing in.
SEK: 10 points for every 1 SEK spent
EUR: 1 point for every 1 EUR spent
etc.
Basically setting my own exchange rates.
Cheers!
Anders
Hello Korianders,
Did you get any reply on this?
Seems like Shopify is not really designed for multi-currrency stores overall.
Thank yoi.
I'm afraid not. I went with Yotpo although it doesn't really solve what I'm looking for. I'm forced to pick a currency (SEK), which won't really make sense to customers outside of Sweden. Only alternative that I found is to manage multiple shops and loyalty programs...
Cheers,
Anders
Hi Anders,
Thanks for your reply.
We use BixGrow which offers tools similar to Yotpo but doesn't solve this issue neither. Shopify launched Markets but they offer no viable solution to efficiently manage different currencies nor allow to transfer money to different bank accounts based on countries where transactions take place. We used to have different different shops and I almost regret we merged them all into Markets and Shopify Payment. It's obviously easier to manage one site, but their solution is absolutely not efficient for accounting or running promotions. On top of that they charge 2% (+2.95% + CHF 0.30 per transaction) extra for converting currencies. We are looking to find alternative to Shopify at this stage. It is a great solution to start but there are too many limitations as we grow. And they don't seem to care much or show willingness to prioritize those upgrades (the accounting one should be treated in a glimpse and it has been discussed for years in the forum, without providing any solutions or ETA).
Cheers,
Sylvain
Hey Sylvain,
Hmm yeah agree. Maybe very cynical here but there is a conflict of interest making Shopify Markets a perfect solution, I mean imagine all brands paying several shops would just suddenly pay for only one :)). Anyways, we are a small brand and I believe Shopify is still the best solution for us. Hope they will improve markets and also launch a proper translation feature (including third party apps text strings).
Cheers,
Anders
Bit late perhaps, but the app in my signature, Customer Accounts, has a Loyalty Program plugin supporting Shopify Markets multi-currency
And it also supports multi-language
Hello JaviExpress,
I contacted the app editor and they replied it does not unfortunately. It is not possible to solve Korianders’ example. They only are able to display a second currency using exchange rate due to Shopify limitation. Did you find a turnaround?
@ Korianders. Shopify makes money on commission not monthly shop subscription, so their best interest would be that your overall revenue grows. But they actually make plenty money on exchange rate as they charge 2% on every transaction made on secondary markets with Markets.
