What URL should I use for my new checkout app?

I'm new to Shopify, and I'm trying to make an app to customize the checkout page.  I'm getting stuck here:

What URL do I put there?  Can it be anything with a myshopify.com domain or is it something specific?  I know this probably sounds like a dumb question, but I'm completely new to this.

Nevermind.  Yes, it can be anything with a myshopify.com domain.

App URL is effectively where you app is hosted.

If your making a public app keep in mind that is the url your are sending merchants too.

If it's set to myshopify sudomain your basically sending users to some stores frontend.

Not a stores shopify admin, or an app admin backend, it's liquid theme; I mean technically you could do that if you have the oauth worked out externally somehow?.

If you need part of your app to live on path on a merchants .myshopify domain see proxy apps.
