Re: Marketing an app

Where can I find reputable websites to review my app?

Hello.

We were looking for channels to market our app and particularly considering contacting websites such as authority sites that rank well for Shopify related content, or have pages reviewing Shopify apps, or do roundups of top Shopify apps, etc. to ask them to review our app (or our approach) and consider it for a mention.

We are having problems to find good, relevant places so wonder if any of you would know where to start with.

Hello @JaviExpress,

To be honest, the way you can succeed in any process you don't have experience in is to hire a person who is acknowledged in this area. It is a time and cost effective solution.

Also, you can reach out to influencers. Working with influencers in your target niche is a great way to promote your Shopify app.
They create a loyal fan base around themselves by creating valuable content that connects with their audience. In turn, the followers trust their favorite creators’ opinions and expertise.

You can integrate word-of-mouth into your marketing strategy.
Work hard on a dedicated fan base using social media strategies.
Create referral or affiliate programs.

Hi @Stacy_Zhuk , thanks for your reply.

Definitely we want to look into hiring an expert later, but we think it's too soon for this at this stage. And we're already kind of testing affiliation out.

For now we'd like to check if we could reach out to opinion/review places ourselves. While we are concerned about our own traffic and reputation, we are concerned as well as to direct more attention to how we approach e-commerce and customer relation, we think it's a valid approach that could attract more attention in Shopify.

Shopify also says that they would provide spaces or more opportunities for promotion but we don't see that many at the moment and the next changes in the listing are going to limit the wording a lot, which is not so good for multifunctional apps. Ideally a part of that word-of-mouth could happen somehow directly in the platform, and we'd like to hear about it too.

Hello @JaviExpress,

Gina here from flareAI. Hope you are doing good.

I am suggesting several methods to promote your Shopify app.

1. Use Shopify Community
You can promote your app by actively participating in the Shopify community and helping merchants solve issues that will build trust with other members of the Shopify community.
2. Social media marketing
You can distribute content, blogs, articles, and videos related to your app on different social media channels.
3. Running paid ads
You can run paid campaigns on the Shopify store or other platforms to help increase the visibility and reach of your Shopify app.
4. Improve the app listing
To provide the best experience across your app make sure your app listing is of good quality. Fill up as many fields in the app listing as you can. Apply on-page SEO to improve your app's SEO on the Shopify App Store.

Hope this helps.

I have a question about #1 - The use of the Shopify community.
Does this place actually help someone promote their apps?

I'd like to know the same.
Delloop solves issues central to eCommerce - lack of repeat sales, costly customer acquisition, low customer retention, friction during pre and post-sales, spiralling service costs and low levels of customer loyalty - all through smarter and more relevant Retailer-Customer Engagement.

Hi, @Anonymous

i hope you are doing well, but the problem is "how can i improve the visibility" of out apps. i have improved App listing according to SEO, as i have SEO experience. but stats showing that the app is not growing.

Shopify ads are way costly as it charged $30-$40 CPC. Not recommendable at all. (in my case, because my app is free)

so are there any other platforms where we can promote our apps

thanks

David
