App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Initially there was an option called manage your private apps but we are not able to find that option now.

Hi @consult_va,
Private apps have been depreciated as of January 2022 and we are encouraging Partners to now create custom apps for their clients instead. Custom apps can be built for a single Shopify store and do not need to be listed on the Shopify App Store. Partners can provide their clients with a simple install link for them to add a custom app to their store and they do not need API access in order to do so.
If you're interested in building custom apps for merchant stores, you can learn more in our developer documentation.

I'm trying to add an API integration between my Shopify store and Mintsoft but I'm having real problems now that the private app feature has gone. How can I set up an API link to Mintsoft myself, because they don't do it?
Hi @sapotter,
If you're wanting to build an app for your own store, you can still do this via custom app development. You should see this option if you head to the Apps section of your Shopify admin:
Custom apps support everything that can be done with private apps, so this should still be a viable option for you.

Having trouble with their API.

Hello Team,
We have a concern related to metafield.
In place of an Image, only a Graphical ID is available. Image is found.
We want to use an Image in the metafield rather than using a Graphical ID
"value":"gid://shopify/MediaImage/20837146067027",
Please suggest.
For the custom app how am I able to request access to all orders (not just the last 60 days of orders). It seems that this feature has been removed from the custom apps that can be made in the store and I am now having to wait 7 days for a review from my partner account to get access for that permission.
Is that possible that I build a custom app for multiple stores? Or is there any option for me to build an app but only provide for invited stores?
Hi @seansoon,
You can build custom apps which will not be posted on the Shopify App Store, unlike listed public apps. If you create a custom app you can share an install link with merchants to install so you would have more control over who can install it.

Hi Victor, Thank you. Does this mean we can share the custom app links with multiple merchants if we want to invite few merchant to test?
Unless I'm misunderstanding, it looks very much possible still to create private apps through the shopify admin. So please for goodness sake put a note about private apps (and explaining what they are) in the shopify app development documentation. It took me hours to find this simple fact that shopify private apps are deprecated.
Hi Victor, our dev team used to access our shopify Custom/Private app through the shopify.dev url. That is now forwarding to partners.shopfiy, but we have been told by support that custom apps are managed in the Shopfiy admin console now (and not in Partners.shopify). however, inside the Admin console in our store, we can see the app, but there is no where to see the individual webhooks and tools like there used to be in the shopify.dev developer site. How do we access that information?
Hi @robA3,
You can view individual webhooks by heading to Settings > Notifications and clicking on the "Webhooks" section:
Please note that custom app development and webhooks are outside of our scope of support. You can refer to our developer documentation on webhooks to learn more about how to use them on Shopify.
