Which app can verify product codes for authenticity?

Hi, can anyone recommend a good app to be used to let a customer enter/verify a code (found on their product) for authenticity. 

Idea is to drive people to our site even after buying through other platforms.

That is an interesting concept - I understand that you want customers to be able to verify a product code on your store, even if they purchased the products on other platforms. I can see how that might be useful.

Would it be possible to provide a little bit more context on the use case for this? Is it purely to drive more sales to your store, or will you have a specific reason for the codes? Also, have you figured out how you might deal with attaching the codes to the products themselves, or maybe you will use the manufacturer provided serial numbers? 

You would usually see this sort of thing when dealing with product registrations for warranty or support purposes - perhaps this is the reason why you would like to do this? I have seen merchants offering discount codes when a number is registered, which encourages the customer to buy from their store.

I had a look on the Shopify App Store and found an app called Warranty Registration | Profit
by ProfitFire that looks like it could be suitable. It allows customers to register their products on your store by using a form. It then allows you to apply a tag to that customer, and also provide a confirmation page which you could include discount codes on. Some other apps that look suitable are:

• Product Registration Supreme by Arcafy
• Advanced Registration by Talon Commerce

Would each product have a unique code per product sold, or would each product have the same code for every one fulfilled?

I'm trying to work out if this effectively proves product authenticity? So it generates a unique QR code that links back to order information? (and possibly other information such as our newsletter sign up, and information about the business etc? If you can help to explain a bit more. It seems the shopify app download page offers so little information on how it actually works.
