Must implement Oauth and complete installation without errors. Resolve any issues that are returning errors after authenticating and ensure that your app has implemented OAuth correctly during the install process.

I found the response after submitting an app for review. I use the node app template for app development. What actually responsible for this error? It works well on my development store.

Hey @Shafi7

If you received a response mentioning that you need to implement OAuth correctly and resolve any errors during the installation process of your Shopify app, it indicates that there are issues with the OAuth implementation in your app.

OAuth is a protocol used for authentication and authorization in Shopify apps. It allows your app to securely access and interact with a merchant's store data. To ensure that your app meets the OAuth requirements and resolves any errors, consider the following steps:

  1. Verify OAuth configuration: Double-check that your app's OAuth configuration is set up correctly. Make sure you have provided the correct OAuth credentials (API key, secret key, and redirect URL) in your app's settings.

  2. Validate OAuth flow: Test the OAuth flow from start to finish. This includes initiating the OAuth process, redirecting to the Shopify authorization page, receiving and validating the authorization code, exchanging the authorization code for an access token, and storing the access token securely.

  3. Handle OAuth errors: Implement error handling for any OAuth-related errors that may occur during the installation process. This includes handling errors such as invalid credentials, revoked access, expired tokens, or mismatched redirect URLs.

  4. Test on different stores: Apart from your development store, test your app's OAuth implementation on various other stores. This will help identify any issues that may arise due to differences in store configurations, permissions, or settings.

  5. Check error logs and responses: Examine the error logs and responses generated during the installation process. Look for any specific error messages or codes provided by Shopify. This can give you insights into the exact issues that need to be addressed.

  6. Review Shopify's OAuth documentation: Refer to Shopify's OAuth documentation and guidelines to ensure that your app follows the recommended practices and standards for OAuth implementation.

  7. Seek developer support: If you are unsure about the specific errors or how to resolve them, consider reaching out to Shopify Developer Support for assistance. They can help troubleshoot the OAuth issues and provide guidance to ensure your app meets the OAuth requirements.

By reviewing your OAuth implementation, validating the OAuth flow, handling errors appropriately, and following Shopify's guidelines, you can resolve any OAuth-related errors and ensure a smooth installation process for your Shopify app.

In this Shopify OAuth, Shopify clearly mentions that if I use the node app template I can skip the OAuth implementation process. Then what can I do now? see this screencast for additional details of the problem Shopify provides.
