Why does my size chart app delete data on the online store?

I made a size chart app. When I tested it on the development store there was no problem. But when I installed it for the online store, adding data became problematic. Any data I add will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time. Is this what is the reason.

Hello @laoyingpeng,

There could be various factors contributing to the automatic deletion of the data you input into your size chart application in Shopify after a specific time period. Consider the following potential reasons.

1. Check if the size chart data is stored in a temporary or session-based storage that is regularly cleared. In such cases, you should consider utilizing a more persistent storage solution, such as a database or Shopify's data storage options like Metafields or Custom Fields API.

2. It is plausible that another application or custom code on your online store is interfering with the size chart app, resulting in data deletion. Temporarily disable other apps or customizations to see if the problem persists.

3. Familiarize yourself with Shopify's policies concerning app development and data storage. Ensure that your app complies with these policies to prevent unintended data deletion.

4. Review your app's configuration settings to ensure that no settings or background processes are responsible for removing the data after a specific period. Check for any scheduled tasks or jobs that may be causing the data deletion.

5. Verify whether your app has the necessary permissions to access and modify the data within the online store. Ensure that the app has appropriate read and write access to the required data resources.

6. If your size chart app extensively uses Shopify APIs to manage data, it is possible that you are hitting rate limits, leading to data loss. Monitor your API usage and ensure it remains within the allowed limits.

7. It is recommended to review your app's code, and configurations, and consult Shopify's documentation and support resources for further troubleshooting assistance.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you require any additional assistance.
