Why is finding product personalization on shopify so hard?

I have been through almost every personalization app that shopify offers.  
The best I have found is the little bit that Printful can do but they do not do mugs or anything sublimated.  

I see product personalization being offered everywhere, why is it so difficult to find on Shopify?  The apps are so complex, you can spend days or weeks on one, just to find out it will not do what you need it to do, or it is not compatible with your theme, needs to be coded and they can't help, etc...

Any suggestions?  Ideally, I am looking for a POD that will allow personalization on mugs and drinkware.

Shopify as a platform, in my opinion, is built and weights heavily on providing an easy-to-use, simple interface. By default, it may look like it lack's on specific functions, such as a custom product customizer.

However the functionality of having a product customizer is missing from the basic Shopify, this process can be achieved through Shopify applications. For custom edits, you might consider getting in touch with a web developer.

If you are looking to have customizable products on your Shopify, I'd suggest to have a look into Zakeke Customizer. This app offers plenty of options and great demos for most niches.

I believe that an important step to any successful ecommerce business is choosing the right platform, taking into account its possible integrations and scalability. Shopify could be the right fit for your business.

PS: Note down what you'd expect from a website, do your due diligence, and then choose which service/platform benefits your business the most.
