YouTube Shopping | Google & YouTube Sales channel | not all products are shown

Hi there,

I hope someone could help me out as I'm trying to solve this issue now for about three weeks.

The connections between Shopify <> Merchant Center and Shopify <> YouTube is established and running without any issues. All 17 products are accessable and approved in our Merchant Center.

The issue is, that only 12 of the 17 products are being transferred / shown in our YouTube Shopping.

The base data of all products are the same - so there is nothing missing, which might cause a non-showing in YouTube Shopping - even the type of product is nearly same to products, that are shown.

Does anyone else have or had the same issue and got an idea, what I can try out?

PS:

I also connected to the Google Shopping Support, who could not help me out further.

As you are using an app maintained by Google, I recommend you persist with communicating with Google Support.

Technical issues can only be resolved by Google.

I am fairly new to Shopify and downloaded the Google & YouTube app everything seemed to be ok until Google merchant wanted me to input item descriptions and Gtins on basically all of my products. It's obvious that the app does not do its job as it should and so now I get an email stating that my account with Google Merchant is suspended for misrepresentation!? I am posting this message because I noticed that you are a Google Shopping Specialist & Expert and wanted to know what is the deal with this? Thanks.

Missing description is not a reason for suspension, missing gtin migth be.

Misrepresentation refers to trust related signals about your business.

For instance, inconsistencies may arise when the actual physical location of your business aligns differently from the information provided on your website, Google Merchant Center settings, public social media profiles, or other connected accounts. All these details must align and reflect the physical reality of your business.

Be clear about your business model and how you operate.

Operating your business in one geographic region while asserting that the corporate entity is based in a different jurisdiction.

Not providing an official business name and not having this matched accros the web.

The practice of setting up a virtual address or business in a location where your company does not operate is a typical example of misrepresentation.

Additionally, the overall quality of your website can be a form of misrepresentation. Therefore, it's essential to improve your website and populate it with original, high-quality content and not to copy-paste information from other websites.

Not including social links such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.

Trust indicators such as your Google Business Profile, Better Business Bureau (BBB) accreditation, and genuine customer reviews are critical to fostering a sense of legitimacy and reliability.

Show certificates from offiical 3rd party sources.

Neglecting to include essential policies such as shipping, returns, privacy in the footer of your website can lead to misrepresentation. Instead, ensure all necessary policies are articulated and accessible to users for transparency and compliance.

Another example of this could be advertising a discounted price for an item, even though the product has not been sold at its alleged original price in recent history.

Copying content from other websites, including details items such as "About Us" pages or policy statements, is regarded as misrepresentation.

Not having an original authentic about us page.

Failure to maintain inventory or lack of knowledge regarding stock quantity levels.

Missing or limited contact method.

Do not have any placeholder text or images.

Do not have any redirects or broken links.

If you have published a blog post, make sure customers can read the article.

Any discrepancy on your website or in your Google Merchant Center account that deviates from absolute truthfulness can be perceived as misleading, which could potentially be the reason for suspension.

Google Merchant app is not fully compliant, resulting in missing
information upon upload. This non-compliance appears to be a developer
issue and should not be attributed to the customer. As such, I firmly
believe that the customer should not be held liable for any missing
information or errors caused by the app’s shortcomings.

I want to emphasize that I am in no way misrepresenting any information
intentionally. Instead, it seems that Google’s app is misrepresenting data,
and unfortunately, customers are being held accountable for Google’s
mistakes.

I kindly request that Google address these compliance issues promptly and
take responsibility for any consequences that arise from their app’s
deficiencies. Suspending customer accounts without proper grounds is an
unfair practice, and I trust that Google will rectify this situation in a
just manner.

I value our partnership with Google and believe in creating a fair and
transparent environment. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify the
situation.

Please let me know how you plan to address this matter, and I hope to see a
swift resolution.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Based on how you replied, there seems to be a very big misconception.

I, am not a Google Employee, I do not work for Google, nor do I work for Shopify.

I am a normal user just like you. And my post is to help you resolve issues.

So, if you want Google to take action, then this community is not the right place. I recommend based on what you want, is to contact Google directly.

I reply to other peoples questions related to Google Shopping, because I have a lot of experience in the field.

My bad. I have no idea how I managed to get that on here. That was supposed to go to support. I would be upset if someone responded to one of my posts like this. Please accept my apologies it wasn't meant for you. Apparently, it doesn't delete.😅

We faced the same issue with Google but our Merchant Center got unblocked, after I set up the whole Shopify thing new. I don't exactly know what caused this Merchant Center misrepresantating data, but I'm fine we are back on track.

On the other hand, I still have no solution for my problem in not showing certain products on YouTUbe Shopping. Not even the Shopify support could help me out, nor the Google support can. I love it....
