Questions and discussions about using the Shopify CLI and Shopify-built libraries.
Hi,
I am getting this error. Tried reinstalling various versions but no luck.
I am trying the Shopify Remix app. The error occurs when I add the extension in my app and run Shopify app dev.
Any idea how to resolve this?

This is an accepted solution.
Finally, the below solution worked for me
solved first uninstall ruby from windows program and features.
now delete all ruby folder and msys folder from c drive.
additionally searched the entire c:\ drive for any gems / ruby / wdm or ff
Install this ruby kit Ruby+Devkit 3.1.2-1 (x64)
now after running command it will ask to update bundler so run : gem install bundler
then it worked.
I also encountered a similar problem, do you have any ideas why this is possible?
no luck yet 😞
I am having this issue too. Have you had any luck solving this?
nope but in my research I have noticed some people had luck when they remove any space in the url like username (c:\user\steve martin\)
I was having this same problem. Apparently this is a known issue for windows 11 (see this thread).
We can bypass the issue by setting bundler to ignore the implicit function declaration. Here are the commands I ran in powershell to solve the issue on windows 11.
Hope this helps!
Tried this. No luck.
Windos11
I also tried this and it didn’t help me, my user is admin, I completely reset windows 10 and now nothing except node and ruby is installed. But it still gives me the same error. On older PCs on which shopify cli was previously installed, everything works without problems.
This worked for me on windows 10, ty!
Perfect.
This solved my issue of shopify theme dev as well as shopify app dev
Thank you so much
That fixed the same error on Windows 11, thank you
