Public app - embedded / non-embedded, Polaris / not Polaris

I just wanted to clarify implementing my public app as an embedded or non-embedded

I want to create a public app, not these.

If it is embedded (ie. in iframe)

• I should (must?) use Polaris.

If it is not embedded

• I am free to use other frameworks.
• It can/will be approved as long as it meets the general requirements for all apps

Is my understanding correct?
