Shopify App Bridge

I am a little confused about the App Bridge even though I have been reading the docs. It seems there is overlap between App Bridge and Polaris. Doesn't Polaris already provide UI components? What's the point of App Bridge?

The app bridge helps you embed your apps into the Shopify Admin or POS. It also directly integrates with Polaris to give you components that will be helpful for app building consistency. You can use any Polaris components on top of that, but this is a set of tools to get your app setup and into the admin.
