specifing 'web_directories' in shopify.app.toml stops

I am having an issue.

where the auto-tunnel URL update feature is not working.

it happens when I add "web_directories = ["web/*"]" in my Shopify node template's "shopify.app.toml" file.

Can anyone help me understand why this is happening?

We had a closer look at you post, and wanted to share a few links. 

At the moment, the best place for technical questions about Shopify developer products like our CLI (repo) or API Libraries (multiple repos, eg. the official TS/JS library) are their corresponding GH repositories, depending on the tools used to configure/scaffold your app. 

If you haven't already and/or there aren't any related issues that discuss your topic/this behavior, please feel free open a new issue and include as many details as possible (versions, dependencies, examples, etc).
