Add image captions on products in Refresh theme?

Hi there! I'm wondering if there is a way to add image captions to product photos in the Refresh theme? For example, on this product, it would be nice if it read 'goldtone medal with pre-printed insert' or 'silvertone medal with custom full colour insert', etc. Ideally we'd like it to be underneath each image but an overlay would work too.

Yes it can be done using image alt and then rendering below each image, just need a combination of liquid code and tweaks according to default theme code. I cannot share the code because if you can create bugs altering the code by yourself. Let me know if you need assistance.
