adding photos prior adding order to cart

Hello!

I am new to this, and I am learning as I go. I want to make sure the customer uploads images prior to adding the order to the cart and checking out. I have tried and I can click add to cart and checkout without photos being uploaded. What am I doing wrong?

I use uploadly so the customer can add photos.

I have tried adding product to cart without attaching any pictures and it let's me checkout without the actual pictures that customer needs to add. I want to have like a popup come out when the customer forgets to add pics, or something that prevents the checkout without the pics being added first.

So that I can check the theme code and add the necessary code to prevent customers checking out without adding photos.
