Altering the checkout button to see the cart first

Hi there, 

Just wondering if there is anyway for me to edit the checkout button on my website, I'd like to get potential customers to go to our cart instead of directly to checkout so we can potentially entice them to purchase an add on. 

How would I go about doing that on Shopify?

Thought about doing a URL redirect however its a unique code so how would I go about doing that, if its possible at all...?
