I have a client website that needs to support multiple languages , but I am facing some challenges with UI elements. Looking to shift it to Shopify where I guess language tags are more effectively analyzed. Though all services are properly translated and localized.
Has anyone faced such issues with translating hardcoded elements or ensuring smooth multilingual support on Shopify? I need suggestions from those who have already worked on different languages.

Shopify has a pretty friendly interface for this. Good for giving translators limited access too.
I would start with Settings > Langauges, and adding languages there.
You'll need Shopify's free app to get the most of it. https://apps.shopify.com/translate-and-adapt
I believe as long as it's not hard coded as a >"text string"<, then this app will provide a translation field for it.
You can then choose specific languages for each market in Settings > Markets
