Blog post display in popup

Is there any way to display a blog post in a pop-up instead of going to a new page? I'm currently using pagefly to display the posts in a grid, but we'd like to see the post details in a pop-up...These are recipes similar to this https://www.pureleaf.com/recipes/

 So you want to show all the related details of a blog post in a popup. 

Great one but something that will need good amount of logic and coding as well. It will need a html for the popup, css to style it, liquid for information and javascript for popup functionality.
