BUG: category metafield translation is not clearing

I've noticed a bug, so I'll post it here to the intrawebs of Shopify...

I translated a category metafield color "Black" in Latvian to "Melns" and then deleted it. 

So, I edited it to "M" in the translation and it updates...

However, if left clear, it still retains the last version rather than fall-back to the original language. 

I tried to clear it within Translate & Adapt app as well as LangShop app and the same results. If anyone has figured out a way to fix this, LMK!
