Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Is there any place to write suggestions for the Shopify team???
We need to save custom layouts for the bulk editor. To be able to select several metafields and save them in a custom layout, this way we save a lot of time when editing different types of products, as you don't have to be searching and selecting the metafields you need.
It would also be helpful not to show sizes or variants of products, so the list would be more compact.
Hey @llargoBike ,
To save custom layouts for the bulk editor in Shopify, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to your Shopify admin panel.
2. Click on Products.
3. Use the checkboxes to select multiple products.
4. Click on Edit products.
Customize Your View:
1. In the bulk editor, you can add or remove fields to customize your view.
2. Click on the Add fields button at the top right corner of the bulk editor.
3. Select the metafields you want to include in your custom layout. Unfortunately, Shopify doesn't currently allow you to save these layouts directly, but you can configure them each time you enter the bulk editor.
Hide Sizes and Variants:
1. While the bulk editor doesn't have a built-in feature to hide sizes or variants directly, you can create a more compact view by not selecting the variant fields.
2. Focus on selecting only the fields relevant to your bulk editing tasks.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific tasks, feel free to ask!

Your lengthy response is summed up in two sentences you wrote:
Focus on what is really necessary, let's not waste time as I waste it every time I enter the bulk editor. Thanks

Having to set-up the fields each time is very time consuming. I spends hours a week unnecessarily. Why doesn't Shopify make this a feature. I've worked with much more basic shopping cart platforms in the past and they can do this feature.
0n of the most time consuming tasks for me.
What a pity that the last update did not do this.
We continue to waste time day after day selecting dozens of metafields and hiding others every time we edit several products.
We continue to lose vertical space in the editor due to the appearance of variants.
Hey @llargoBike ,
I understand the frustration you're experiencing with the current process. Managing multiple metafields and dealing with variant visibility issues can certainly take up a lot of time and space in the editor.
To address this efficiently, please feel free to reach out to me via email. With over 5 years of experience in Shopify development, I'm confident I can assist you in streamlining your workflow and resolving these challenges effectively.
Looking forward to your message and the opportunity to help!

Hi team, any schedule for adding this feature?
Thanks.
We believe that adding the ability to save custom layouts in the bulk editor and streamlining the display of product variants would significantly improve efficiency for merchants like us.
Please feel free to reach out via email so we can discuss this in more detail and work together to find the best solution for you.
Best regards,
Rajat
Seriously...I can't believe this isn't already a feature! 😬 I thought it was and that I just didn't know how to do it, so that's how I found this thread. It's ridiculous that the bulk editor defaults back to something really useless instead of letting us--at the very least--pick up at the last view each time. Or the best case would be to let us save view profiles to call up easily.
We are waiting for this since the roman empire.
Hoping the next century to see it....
