Hello!
Is it possible for me to add a notify when back in stock button/section to this page without a app? I use the prestige theme.

Hello @Rubberduck
Yes, that is possible but not easy.
To add a "notify when back in stock" button or section to a product page in your Shopify store without using an app. Here are the steps you can follow:
Go to the "Online store" section of your Shopify admin and click on "Themes."
Click on the "Actions" button next to the theme you are using and select "Edit code."
In the "Templates" directory, look for the file named "product.liquid." This is the template file that controls the layout and content of the product page.
Scroll down to the section of the file where you want to add the "notify when back in stock" button or section. This could be in the product description, for example, or in a separate section of the page.
To add a button, you can use the following code:
<label for="notify-email">Enter your email address to be notified when the product becomes available again:</label>
<input type="email" id="notify-email" />
<button class="notify-button" onclick="submitNotificationRequest()">Notify when back in stock</button>
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Hello @Rubberduck
For this function, you should use 3rd app, for example, klaviyo app. the app will automatically send mail when your product: is "back in stock"
Strange that you, GemPages, are suggesting an app for "back in stock". I was just told by GemPages support that in order for the Klaviyo "back in stock" feature to work on GemPages we have to develop and API ourselves. Is this true?
@Rubberduck - I will still recommend to use app like klaviyo which will send auto email
Hey @Rubberduck ! You can definitely do this with custom code (either on the theme or with Klaviyo), but I wouldn't recommend it. The main reason is that back in stock alerts can be an extremely effective solution for recovering sales, and an app can help you with setting it up the right way. There are so many ways to notify customers - all at once vs batch, email vs email and SMS, minimum quantity to notify, reminder alerts and more. And not only that, back in stock alerts have one of the highest conversion rates for notifications, so you want to make sure that you invest in this channel correctly.
I'm the founder of Stoq - one of Shopify's top-rated apps for back in stock alerts & preorders. We spent the last 3 years building a powerful solution to help you with this. And our mission is to do so without breaking your bank.
In just a few quick clicks, you can -
1. Add a customizable "Notify me" button and signup form to out of stock products on your store.
2. Automatically notify via email/SMS when you restock.
3. Track and get insights on waitlist, notifications and sales recovered
4. Get expert help from our team on the right settings for your store. (For example - SMS back in stock alerts convert way better than email 🙂
Stoq has a generous free plan; you can basically use it forever without ever having to pay. And we work round the clock - so you get help whenever you need it. Give us a try; I'd love to get your feedback. (PS - Mention this Community thread in our chat support and I'll get you a generous discount!)
