Can the wording of the subscription check box be changed?

Hi, I was wondering if the wording if the subscription check box on the checkout page be changed?

I'm pretty sure I had changed it once before but I have forgotten how I did it.  It seems to have reverted back by itself.

Thanks

Hey, @Sundayla! Welcome to Shopify Community!

You can adjust the wording of this checkbox through your theme's language editor. You can follow the steps below to do so.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click Actions > Edit languages on your current or live theme to open the language editor.
  3. Click the Checkout & system tab.
  4. Scroll down until you see Subscription agreement label and Subscription agreement label html

    alt

  5. Edit the text accordingly.
  6. Click Save.

If you updated to a different theme file with a different version of this subscription agreement text, it's possible the text on this area has changed because of that. Make sure to follow the steps above to update it to the correct version every time you change theme files.

I'm glad to see the cancellation policy linked in your checkout. Don't forget to add this to your navigation so customers can see the policy before they decide to purchase. In addition to doing this, you may also create a FAQ page so customers can easily access the information they need to know about your subscription products.

Hi @Summer

Do you know if there's a way of moving this checkbox to the first step of the checkout rather than the payment_method step. The client wants this moved

Hi Summer,

Can you advise why I can't see the "Subscription agreement label" in my language theme settings? My checkout does not show a subscription checkbox and I desperately wish it would. I use recharge on a Flow theme. Has the theme removed the option of a checkbox at checkout to confirm the user agrees to the subscription terms?

Can the cancellation policy be changed? It's generic language that includes irrelevant policies for Trying Before You Buy, and Pre-orders, both of which are not applicable to my store. Updated: Sorry never mind, I couldn't find it in the theme settings but I found it in the store settings.

Hi Summer - where does the check box record to? How can we access that in Shopify?

Hello.   I'm using a CI/CD Staging theme and Production theme where when I push changes it updates. Would I have to update this every time I update the theme. Or is there a programmatic way to do this in the theme settings, i.e. a file in the project?   Searching the dawn theme for "One or more of your products" provides nothing.  This would be not great to have to change this text to the correct version every single time you update the theme.   Let me know if i'm mistaken.  Thanks
