Can you display a few images of a product of the same colour when the colour is selected in Dawn 15?

Hello there, I'm new to Shopify! I'm managing to get some of the layout and navigation to work as intended but I was wondering if this I can get some help with the following problem:

I would like the customer to click on a colour variant of a product and for the main image and the thumbnail selection to display just the images/products of that colour.  Is this possible in Dawn 15? I have set up the colour swatches but when I choose a colour variant of the product, the main image changes but the rest of the images in the thumbnails remain the same. So the customer will need to go through all of the images to find other images/products of that colour.

I know this can be done in previous versions of the Dawn theme but when code customisation is required, it doesn't seem to match in the latest V15 of Dawn.

Does anyone know how to do this? Many thanks in advance for any help!

It has the option to hide images of other variants in your Online Store > Themes > Customize > Products > Default product

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your reply. I have tried selecting and unselecting that option but it doesn’t do anything. All the other colour variants remain in the thumbnail carousel. I tried to change the product view to stacked and all the images show just the same. I have installed an app called Easy Variant Images and it works well but after the free trial period ends, I need to pay a subscription fee. If I can find a work around that would be preferable, to keep costs low. Perhaps there is a way I need to organise product information in the product page for that option to work?
