Cart Drawer not working + normal cart does not update

I can no longer enable the cart drawer in the theme settings. Only pop-up and page works. Currently using page now as it works, but when on the cart page, the cart does not update automatically and you constantly need to refresh the page. I get the message "There was an error while updating your cart. Please try again."

I do have custom code installed to the cart.

Currently using Dawn 15.0.0

The custom code might be the issue which stops cart from updating asynchronously or it could be theme code issue. Probably will need to lookup code and assign an ajax load or debufgcode that might be stopping cart from being refreshed.
