Cartless store buy it now button

Hi, I am trying to make a cartless store. I have removed the cart icons and buttons. However, there is still one problem with the buy it now button, where if the user goes to checkout and then returns to the product page, the products will be added back to the cart. Is there a way to fix this so that the items are not added to the cart that still runs in the background? Many thanks
