Change error message on newsletter in footer.

I've been stuck on this for a while. How can I change the location and message of the error message on the newsletter in the footer? I'd like it to be below the entry and say "Please enter a valid email address." Pic for reference (I'd like it without the caution triangle):

The text can be found and edited from your store admin > Online Store > Themes, click '...' in the current theme > Edit default theme content
