Change header color without homepage menu items

Hi, can anyone help me change the color of the header items (text / icons) to black, without changing them of the homepage ? I have a transparent header there

- Please follow these steps:

- Then find the theme.liquid file.
- Add the following code before the </body> tag

    {% if template != "index" %}
    <style>
      .header__menu-item span, .header__icon.link{
    color: black !important;
}
    </style>
    {% endif %}
