Hi,

I am trying to build a website on Shopify's Galleria theme, and on the product page I want the section that reads "Vendor" to change to "Artist" or "Brand".
(Screenshot Attached)

Here the it reads "Vendor: Fardeen Bhamgara", I want to change it to "Artist: Fardeen Bhamgara"

Have tried to go to Languages and changing it there but it doesn't seem to reflect. (This was the first result that Google suggested)

Any suggestions on how to achieve this ?

Thank you 🙂

Hello !

I found the solution to what I was looking for.

Under Snippers >

product-template.liquid

I edited the code line that read :

Vendor: {{ product.vendor | link_to_vendor }}

to

Artist: {{ product.vendor | link_to_vendor }}

Thank you all for your help 🙂

You can edit this under Settings -> Store language

Search for "Vendor" and change the fields to whatever you want. Very easy 🙂

Hey !

That's exactly what I tried first. But it doesn't show up on the page even after changing it there. (Attached screenshot)

Hi, @fardeenb!

I see that you managed to find the code to fix the issue you were having. I'm glad that you were able to do that!

I wanted to drop in here to make sure you had some resources for future reference in the event you had further trouble with your theme.

Since you're using a 3rd party theme, it's possible that it won't have generalized ways to edit specific things. For example on many themes (esp. free themes), you can edit the wording through the Language Editor, however, with some paid themes you may have to edit the code. Asking the Community forums is a great way to get some help, but if you need support a bit quicker, you can use this guide here to see what support options there are for your theme.

From what you're working on, it sounds like you are working with various artists to get their works seen and purchased. This is fantastic! Many merchants go this route and have done great things for those artists. One suggestion, if you don't currently have it, I would recommend adding profile pages for each artist.

Since each vendor link will lead to a selection of items, I'd suggest creating a synopsis or biography for each artist. This will be an excellent way to add depth to your business, it'll also help the right people buy from artists they align with. In addition, this will also help serve as a good boost to your SEO by having more written work on your site. It'll help new visitors to find these artists as well!

Let me know how you do with the information above! I'm happy to answer any questions you think of as you work on your business.
