Where are you changing your refund policy specifically? Typically, the policies shown on the checkout page are pulled directly from Settings > Policies. If you have your policies stated in a text format on a stand alone page, it will not automatically update the official policies from the checkout pages.
If you have in fact updated those settings and it's not refreshing it live on the website, can you send me a screenshot of where it is not updating specifically for you?
Regarding the colours that are not staying up to date, please walk me through the steps you're following and which section of colours you're adjusting. This will give me a better idea of what's happening here.
