Changing to a search box instead of icon.

Hello, 

I have updated my impulse theme and i have lost the search box that a customer can type in i had. It's just the magnifying glass any ideas how i can get this back?

This is how my site looked before the update? I would like the search bar at the top right but cant seem to get one any help would be greatly appreciated.
