Changing White Background Prod Images to Slightly Gray

Hello,

So we have all white background product images, they are not transparent backgrounds. We have heard of a way with .css to alter the background color slightly to a gray using css and pseudo elements. There is some information on this here, as this is something that is done on Amazon:

Anyone here have experience doing this? We use the Prestige most updated theme.
