Hi there 

I am trying to make 2 edits on the checkout page however I am struggling...

1. How can I change the header of the checkout page to have a full header image view like this:

 as you can see the header image is currently looking like this: 

2. Also I would like to change the setting for the 'email me with news and offers' to have it checked by default so that customers can uncheck the box if they don't want to be contacted (rather than check it)

You can't edit that last page of checkout unless you pay for the shopify supper duper plan.

There is a setting for that email checkbox though. I'll look and see if I can find it.
