Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I'm selling products with different colors, sizes etc and wanted a way to display a t-shirt with color swatches and dropdowns for sizes etc.
As my new store is using the Basic plan, I don't yet have access to this functionality out of the box.
I did some digging around and managed to find a plugin that did what I needed. However, the issue is that as the page loads, you can see the switch from Shopify default to the plugin swatches. (video attached)
While I don't expect anyone to answer on behalf of the plugin I'm using (GLO Color Swatch), could this be easily done via code?
I found a few tutorials online, but none of them appear to be with this version of Dawn - so I hit a few hurdles when trying to understand Liquid.
Does anyone know how to do this or have a plugin that works as it should?
Thanks!
Hey @veganjoyjar
Pls refer this , this absolutely works well on all free themes
Thanks for this, but it doesn't quite work as expected.
Where are the colours from the swatch being generated from?
If you see the picture, they are not all the correct colours.
Also, how did you make the other fields dropdowns? When I disable the plugin I had, I get the 'capsules' back.
Thank you so far for the help though. It will be exciting to get this working!
Try to config your colors here.
Feel free to send a DM to me if you need any further assistance.
That is fantastic and works perfectly. Thanks so much.
Are you able to share how you made the sizes a drop-down also?
I mean, if I change the default for the product page to drop-downs, it overwrites your code for the color swatches.
