Colour swatches & annoying footer problem - help!

Hi, 

Please can I have some help with the following issues:

1. I need to add colour to my colour swatches. I've followed my theme's instructions to adding the actual colour files into the code. However, the rest of the instructions make no sense to me. Here is the document - if anyone can make sense of it, please let me know:

2. I followed Shopify's instructions on removing the Powered by Shopify from the footer but am somehow still left with 'Shopify' portion. 

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

UPDATE - fixed the Shopify footer, turned out to be my theme. 

The swatches issue still persists so any help would be greaaaaat!
