Compare-at-price not showing in some countries

Compare-at-price not showing in some countries

Hi everyone, i have a simple problem but i can't manage to solve it.

I have set a "discounted" price for my products, and the compare-to-price one. i.e. 19,90 and 28,90...
It works just fine if i set US or UK or whatever as my shipping country, when i enter the website.
Although i have a bug if i set italy (my country, the country where the store is based). In this case, it just shows the discounted price, as a regular price (black font) and no compare-to-price value.

So if i set for example US

it shows the price the right way (discounted price in blue, "original" price barred in grey):

But if i choose italy:

it shows it like this...

Here's how i set it in the product page for the example above:

My site is bluepaw.shop
The password is: 1234

please help me, thanks!

Hi @BluePaw ,

I have managed to get to the bottom of this.

The issue is actually caused by a change in EU law. It's taken some time but if you Navigate through Settings > Markets, then click on Preferences for any market containing a European Union country.

You will then see a setting 'Hide compare-at prices for European Economic Area (EEA) customers' by default this is on, if you disable this your sale prices will work again.

Thanks for your response earlier, hopefully this will help you and others 🙂

Please accept this as the solution.

Whwn you Enter the store it should ask you your shipping country?

Did you get to the bottom of this? I am facing the same issue.

I kinda did... I simply uninstalled the Geolocalizaton app which is by default when you create a shopify store. It probably generated an issue with my currency converter app. It's the best solution cause I actually dont need to know the shipping location of the user

You are a lifesaver Thank You, I have been trying to fix this and was tempted to delete the store and rebuild as I thought it was a code error.

I love u man,

I spent a lot of hours on it and there was no answer anywhere on the internet. (Especially since it worked for me before).

Thanks again!

Hi, is this only possible via desktop view? I am editing via mobile at the moment as I am away from home and can’t find settings > markets > preferences.

Hello! I know this is a very old post but I found it looking for the answer to the same question, just that this solution doesn't seem to work for me since I'm having that same problem with all countries except my primary market. The compare price is not showing for example to Canada or Australia. I already changed preferences and is not working, not even with EU countries.. hope you can help me or someone because this can affect a lot in my sales since I have an offer active and customers can't see the discounted price. Thank you!!!

Hey, I have the same problem. Did you solve this with your website?

Hi,

Yes, it is to do with EU laws. I’m sorry, I can’t remember where it was but you need to tick something to do with eu laws and sale prices.

Good luck

For anyone having issues in 2023

In Markets, go to international or your market created.
Under Products and pricing untick the checkbox as shown above.
Then you will be able to see compare at price.
Hope it helps someone.

I am having same inconvenient.

In CAD I can see compare at price with no issue, since it 's primary market but for US is not possible. What can I do?

I have the same issue, CAD shows compare at price but everywhere else shows just the new price. Have you found a solution?

Tried to send you a PM, though it says that you had it disabled.
Send me your shop name so I can request access from my partner account.
