Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi Everyone.
I hope this makes sense. What I am trying to do is create a collections page that shows a list of other collections. I realize there is a collections/all page but I only want to show certain collections on this page. Like on one collections page, I want to show a list of all state parks collections (there are 124 state parks in PA so there are 124 collections in this section) and then I want to show another collections page that will show local parks I am working with (there are 17 parks in this collections sections) Is there a way to accomplish that? Again, I hope this make sense. I am not the best at describing stuff. I am using the spotlight theme.
Thank you in advance!
Justin
Hello Justin,
Yes it's possible.
You need to create a page and a new template for it so you can do the code stuff there.
In the code part you need to make an option in the template to select the specific collections as you need and then call them in that template.
btw if you are not comfortable with the code part you can go with a page builder app like Gempages to achieve it.

To fulfill your request, please follow these steps:
Go to Page > Create a new template > Hide the "Page" > Add the Collection list block > Select your desired collection.
I hope this helps
Best,
Daisy
Hey there! I totally get what you’re aiming for, creating custom collections pages to showcase specific groups like your 124 Pennsylvania state parks and 17 local parks is a great idea. With the Spotlight theme (an Online Store 2.0 theme), you can easily do this by going to Online Store > Pages in your Shopify admin, clicking "Add page," and naming it something like "State Parks" or "Local Parks". Then, in the theme customizer (Online Store > Themes > Customize), select your new page from the top dropdown, add a "Collection List" section, and pick the exact collections you want to display for each page. Save it, repeat for the other page, and you’re set, no coding needed, and it’ll look clean and organized! If you want these pages in your navigation, just add them via Online Store > Navigation.
