Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I'm working with the Parallax Theme, and every time I got to edit one of my multiple pages, they all change to the one I just finished editing.
For example, I have two pages under one category. If I change one image on one page, it changes the other. I can't seem to figure out why it's doing that.
Any help would be appreciated!

This is an accepted solution.
Depending on how you edit them of course it will edit on all,
I suggest creating a second, third, fourth page-template for each webpage you want. So page-industry.template etc etc
Just copy-paste the original and keep creating the templates

When I go to edit a page, the template suffix from "Services" to "Industry" are all page.details. So changing anything one of these four pages changes all of them because it has the same page template suffix? The same problem is happening from "Oil and Gas" to "Electric Motor Repair" expect the suffix is page.banner. I literally cannot edit anything, please someone help!!

Oh okay, I honestly didn't know you could do that.
When I go to edit the page template, it just has a drop down box where I select which template I want. So how do I directly change the template name?
Thanks for the help
go to edit code > templates, you would see those templates pages there, just create new ones by pasted the original template code and naming it differently

I believe I did, this is what pops up everytime I try to load the page.
Liquid error: Could not find asset snippets/page-details.liquid
I found directions online as well and followed it step by step and still didn't get it
I got a hold of the third party theme operator and got it to work. You were right on creating new templates but some of the code had to be named a specific way or it doesn't work!
Appreciate the help.
Nevermind I got it! Thanks!
Hey John 🙂
I am experiencing this issue. I managed to create the templates, but when I go to the page to assign the template, I only have two options: default template and contact.
I am using Refresh theme, maybe this is a theme limitation? Because I can actually see that I create the templates in the editor, but I cant assign them in the page.
Can you help or do you have any suggestion?
Hello,
I am having the exact same problem, did you manage to solve it?
Many thanks.
Hey John, sorry this problem is happening to me aswell, my on edit on one page is going to all pages. Im quite new to shopify, can you walk me through what you mean by: page-industry.template etc etc?
Id greatly appreciate it
I am having the same issue with the DAwn theme. Who did you reach out to in order to solve the problem? thanks a lot
This is a two-step process. First, please go to your Online Store and follow the sequence below to create a new template,
Online store -> Themes -> Customize -> Home page, dropdown ->Pages -> Create Template, and give it a unique name
This gives you an option to create some template pages, that you can later assign to the Store navigation and then start adding content.
The next step is to register the template that you created from your theme, at
Sales Channels -> Online store -> Pages -> create a Store page, once done, click it and assign it a unique template name at
Online Store -> Theme Template -> [select the new template you have created from the dropdown] à hit Save
The page “title” will be displayed as page heading. Once the Page heading and Intro is created, click “Customize Template” to create template and finally hit Save.
Once the Pages are ready, then they can be linked to the following navigation setup.
Sales Channels -> Online store -> Navigation
Hey Eynza
Do you have to own the Theme to do this?
Because i'm editing the theme on a trial, and under Themetemplate i can only choose default page and contact.
Thanks a lot.
