Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I have a clothing store and when we receive product every season, I tag each product "Sp23, SS23, F23, etc" in order to keep it organized. I was wondering if there was a way to see analytics based on product tags. It'd be helpful to know what I sold from a certain brand in SP23 in order to forecast for SP24. Anyone have a work around? Seems like it should be a feature within Shopify already.
Hi There,
Unfortunately, Shopify does not allow reporting based on product tags.
Our Report Toaster app can help. We have multiple ways to filter and report by tag. Please feel free to take a look and reach out to support to help get your reports setup.
Shopify's reporting and analytics have their limits, especially since the tag you add to your products is custom data.
This shouldn't be an argument as Product Type is also custom data. Especially as Shopify markets their reports as advanced filtering products by tags should be a bare minimum and you shouldn't need third party apps for that if you have the advanced plan.
Hi @LoganCox15 !
I wanted to let you know that Mipler: Advanced Reports can help you out with that!
It is a reporting app that can be used to generate lists.
For example, it can generate:
- a list of products for tomorrow's delivery by extracting delivery dates from tags, notes, or meta fields
- a list of customers with their email who haven't placed orders within the last 90 days
- different sell-through, stock-covered days, and replenishment metrics for inventory, etc.
If you try Mipler, our amazing support team will hook you up with the reports you need and even help you with custom columns based on your request.
We offer a 7-day free trial, so you can give it a spin and see how it works for you. If it's not exactly what you're looking for, you can simply remove the app.
Let us know if you have any questions or need any further assistance.
Hello LoganCox15!
I'll join the chorus of self promoting fellow forum members 🙂 - take a look at Datma, free / no registration demo available here: https://demo.datma.io and more on subject here is a direct link to a report based on tags: https://demo.datma.io/shopify/reporting/metrics/10338 . Beside sales data we have also the possibility to analyse also views and conversions on product (and soon variant) level. This is possible because we operate our own tracker and we combine data from Shopify API with web site tracking.
Hope that is something that you'll find useful.
Also there is a 30 day free trial in case you want to test it out on your own stores' data.
Best,
Peter @ Datma
yes you can. Shopify just released in December 2024 (this month) their New Analytics. Made a video on how to build custom reports using Shopify only (no apps needed) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45Wkb6nKF-4
Cheers, noticed the overhaul indeed, also the option to use prodcut tags nowdays. Thanks @Shopify !
