Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I'm using Dawn theme, and I want my grids to act in specific ways based on the kind of grid.
More specifically I want this behavior:
- All featured collections use no-wrap grids regardless of the screen size, so anytime I use a 'featured collection' section, it will be no-wrap grid.
- All pages whose purpose is to show a bunch of products (such as the 'product grid' that comes default on the catalog page) will use the default grid behavior and wrap the grid, regardless of screen size.
One problem with this is, when I have a page that's meant to show a bunch of specific products, like "men's shoes", my only option appears to be to add a 'featured collection' section, instead of the product grid that is on the default catalog page. And I would want the collections used on those specific pages (like "men's shoes") to have a wrapped grid.
If the page purpose is to feature SOME products, and also have other stuff like text and images, then I want the no-wrap behavior for the grid. But if the page purpose is only to show a bunch of products, then I want the grid to wrap.
Even still, I have no idea where to make this change to have the desired effect.
I hope this makes sense, and hopefully someone can help.
Ok I feel like an idiot, I just realized I can do custom css on each section.
But... if there's a way to have this changed in the theme code itself, so that I don't have to do it manually, it would be very much appreciated if someone knows how to do this.
