Dawn Theme Blog Post Excerpt Rich Text HTML

How can we display rich text from our summary excerpt on the blog page? The format is converted into paragraph format only and will not allow breaks, bullets, etc.

I am struggling with the same issue.  Rich text formatting is not being picked in my 'excerpts'
